Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. – Eph 4:29
The Bible makes us to understand that, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks, and that Life and death lies in the power of the tongue. It is sometimes sad to realize that most of us are the very architects of our predicaments, mostly by our utterance and and words of our mouth.
Paul was writing to the people of Ephesus, cautioning them on how they use their mouth and tongue.(the way they talk to each other) . Because, when we speak foul or abusive language, we cause weak minds to be corrupt as well. Let every word we say be good and helpful, for the encouragement of those who hear us. Have you ever experienced a situation where you are in stress and distress, then someone besides you is full of negativity and degrading language? at times I feel like throwing up. It make one feel sick and discouraged. Thank you for not adding pain to someone’s injury.
That is why David said: “God, let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable to thy side or Lord my God” Psalms 19:14 . I will hardly miss to pray this prayer every morning during our morning devotion. When the medications of your heart is acceptable unto God, you will be a source of blessing and encourage to those you speak to around you, as the words of your mouth will be soothing and pleasing to your hearers. One never knows, just a word of encouragement from you can save a life from suicide. Just one word may heal another’s grieve and pain.
Speak some encouraging words to someone in your neighborhood, your apartment or the man you meet at the grocery, send some encouraging text to that friend, give them a smile through your words.
Have a a great day ahead.
